Today, eYeka, the leading crowdsourcing platform for marketers, launched a contest for the “OSCE United in Countering Violent Extremism” communication campaign (#UnitedCVE). eYeka’s 345,000 creatives are invited to join a conversation around questioning simplistic, binary thinking and challenging stereotypes about violent extremism and terrorism.

The #UnitedCVE campaign was initiated by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the world’s largest regional security organization with 57 participating states in North America and Eurasia. Its aim is not only to send a unified message from the OSCE, but also to reinforce a global consensus against violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism, and to reject the association of terrorism with any particular race, ethnicity, religion, or nationality.

Today, the contest was officially announced at the opening of the OSCE’s 2016 high-level counter-terrorism conference in Berlin. “We should involve young people as partners in our efforts – tap into their creativity and encourage them to use their energy in support of safeguarding their peers, families and communities against violent extremism,” said the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier. The conference, organized by Germany’s 2016 OSCE Chairmanship, is bringing together more than 300 participants from OSCE participating States, their Asian and Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation, as well as international and regional organizations, civil society and academia.

eYeka’s CEO, Francois Petavy, said: “We believe creativity is a true force for good, and we have been humbled by OSCE’s innovative approach to challenging stereotypes around violent extremism. We are proud to support this meaningful cause and to provide this opportunity to our creative community.”
